Michelle was born and raised in Vancouver, Canada. Looking for a change of scenery, she moved to Los Angeles to attend UCLA, where she graduated with a B.S. in Chemistry and Microbiology, Immunology, and Molecular Genetics (MIMG). While at UCLA, Michelle conducted RNA splicing research with Prof. Guillaume Chanfreau and synthesized BDF5 inhibitors for Leishmania donovani with Prof. Stuart Conway. Wanting to conduct translational research, Michelle is a joint student with the Nomura group. Outside of the lab, Michelle enjoys drinking boba, spending (a lot of) money on good food, and reading asian comics.
